ACU 2nd Leaders Meet & Convention begins

Dimapur, January 11 (MExN): The three-day Angami Catholic Union (ACU) began its 2nd Leaders Meet cum 11th Convention under the theme, "Rooted and build up in Jesus Christ," on Jnauary 11 evening at St. Clare Higher Secondary School at Phevima (Kacharigaon), Dimapur .


Speaking on the theme, Rev Fr Solomon Vizo began the words of St. Paul and said a believer's faith should be rooted, build up and established in Christ just as a tree or plant whose roots form the strength and basis of life, stated a press release from Max Marius Khieya, member Publicity Committee.


On the occasion, the priest also spoke about the importance of receiving "Communion" and said “Jesus comes to us through it" as Christ has made Himself the Bread of Life to give us life. Vizo therefore, urged the congregation to prepare oneself worthily for Communion in order to receive Eucharist blessings.


To walk in faith and become closer to God one must also confess one's sins regularly he told the congregation while urging them also to observe the Lord's Day on Sundays.


Dr Neiviselie Simon, President, Catholic Association Nagaland (CAN) also spoke and gave words of encouragement to ACU .


Earlier, a minute of silence was observed in honor and remembrance of the departed souls of ACU.


Meanwhile, Alhouii Albina, founding member and former president of Angami Catholic Women Association lit the candle of the meet.


God's blessings were invoked by Thepuzhol Peter, Catechist, St. Leo Church, Phevima while Kevituonyii Simon, President ACU delivered the welcome note.


Mezhüvinuo Natalia read the Scripture while a special number was presented by Chakhro Angami Catholic Union and later, Rosary prayer was led by Petekhriezo Francis, Catechist St. Francis de Sales .


The three-day event is being hosted by St. Leo Catholic Church.


Meanwhile, on the first day, about 500 delegated from 42 villages within Kohima jurisdiction were registered.
