APC Tuensang seeks development of Chare-Mokokchung approach road

TUENSANG, JANUARY 11 (MExN): The Action Plan Committee (APC) Tuensang has written to the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for MDONER seeking allotment for improvement of an approach road under the SARDP-NE in Tuensang during the year 2018-19.

The APC, in its letter to the Minister, stated that there is an urgent need to address the condition of the approach road between Chare and Mokokchung, which falls under Tuensang District. This road, which covers a distance of only 19 kilometers was introduced in 2008, informed the APC, adding that “most of the travelers take this mentioned road owing to the distance and for time.”

The road, it lamented has not been maintained since its inauguration, while also pointing out that it is in a deplorable condition now. The APC added that light vehicles can hardly ply on the road throughout the year. It reminded that several appeals had been made, however the Nagaland State Government “always turns a deaf ear all these years.”

The APC therefore urged the Union Minister to deliver a special package for works in the aforementioned road.
