Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): ATMA Kobulong Block, Mokokchung conducted a demonstration on small scale backyard poultry management at Sungratsü village on June 26.
The convenor of the block Dr. Aoyimsen Jamir BTT, who was the resource person, trained the farmers on various areas of poultry management.
Construction and maintenance of chicken coops, the importance of sanitation for bird’s health, and placement of feeders and waters for easy access to clean food and water at all times were some areas which he covered.
Jamir also advised for regular monitoring of birds during their roosting hours to ascertain their health status. He further demonstrated the techniques of administering medicines to the birds to the 10 poultry farmers who participated at the event.
Free medicines such as Amixin, Cocciguard, vitamins and mineral mixtures were provided by the Department of AH & Veterinary Services and was distributed to the farmers, informed a press note received here.
