Cabinet sub-committee visits Jalukie for verification of Peren-Dimapur boundary

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 18 (MExN): The Cabinet Sub-Committee along with government officials visited Jalukie Town for physical verification of Peren-Dimapur boundary on January 18. 


After the arrival of Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by Minister for Health & Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom who is also the Convener of Cabinet Sub-Committee, a short interaction session was held with the civil societies and district officials at Guest House, Jalukie Town, a DIPR report stated on Saturday. 


During the interaction session, Zeliangrong Baudi President, CR Zeliang and Zeme Council President, Dr Tumda made an appeal to the Cabinet Sub-Committee to resolve the long pending boundary issue of Peren-Dimapur based on historical facts and realities for peaceful coexistence between the two districts.


In response to the appeal made by the civil societies, Convener, S Pangnyu Phom gave an assurance that Government will take up concrete measures and decide what is best for both the parties and sought cooperation from both the parties. He further urged both the parties to maintain status quo before final settlement is arrived.


Later, after the meeting, the Cabinet Sub-Committee along with civil societies and district officials visited Mhaikam village to ascertain the actual area of land holding system of Lamhai Village Councils.
