CFC Kids for Christ family conference held

Kohima, March 4 (MExN): Couples for Christ (CFC) Nagaland held CFC Kids for Christ family conference at Rüsoma village in Kohima district on March 4. The theme of the conference was ‘A Family for Jesus!’  

According to a press release from Mengukhreituo Marcus, CFC Nagaland State Coordinator cum Chapter Head, the overall message of the conference was: From the very beginning, Family is God’s plan; Importance of communication (one to one’s) with each member of the family; Importance of praying, not only as an individual but as one family (household); Importance of a family meal, family meal as a hidden sacrament; Family should be grateful of the presence of each members in their lives, all the blessings that God has blessed them (honoring); Families are called to be witnesses (Do everything in love).  

Couples for Christ, a private international association of the faithful in accordance with the Apostolic Constitution Pastor Bonus for the Roman Curia, began in 1981 in Manila, Philippines with its vision ‘Families in the Holy Spirit Renewing the Face of the Earth’.  

It is a movement intended for the renewal and strengthening of Christian family life, the release said. “It is an association of Christian couples who have committed themselves to the Lord and to one another, so that they may grow into maturity as men and women of God and fulfill their primary vocation of raising up their families under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and for the service of the Kingdom of God,” it added.  

Couples for Christ, the release further stated, is “a work of Christ which raises up Christian couples and establishes Christian families committed to the work of evangelization and winning the world for Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.”  

To take the basic message of Christianity and to proclaim it anew so that those who hear it can make a renewed commitment to the Lord in a way which will allow them to receive a fuller experience of the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives, it added.  

The release informed that CFC Kids for Christ aims to provide a Christian support environment for children of Couples for Christ members who are between the ages of 4-12.
