Morung Express News Dimapur | February 22   As Prime Minister, Narendra Modi campaigned in Tuensang on Thursday, the Indian National Congress was in wait to counter his statement and by afternoon, it branded him as a “liar of third order.”   “We (INC) were expecting that the PM would say something substantial but it was very disappointing for the people of Nagaland as he repeated what he said on December 1, 2014 during the Hornbill Festival,” said AICC Observer, Pradyut Bordoloi.   Addressing media persons in Dimapur, Bordoloi recalled that the PM in 2014 talked about the NDA government giving special emphasis for Northeast “but the tragedy is he conveniently forgot about it, went back to Delhi and withdrew the Northeast Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy.” He said that the Policy was to continue till March 31, 2017 which aimed at boosting investment in NE.   The AICC Observer noted that the PM did not say anything new except minor announcements on providing dwelling units. He said that the health schemes announced by Modi were “nothing extraordinary” but a legacy of the UPA Government and added that the NDA government only changed the names of the schemes.   “The Congress questions Modi’s sincerity about NE and we are constrained to say that that he stands out to be a liar of third order,” alleged Bordoloi.   He said that the Congress as a national party was respectful to the aspirations of the Naga people. Bordoloi also took a jibe at the NDPP-BJP alliance and said the INC was “aghast” at the money and muscle power being demonstrated in the form of expensive advertisements in the media and some of its candidates being “intimidated.”   Supplementing him, another AICC Observer, Capt. Praveen Davar alleged that the amounts for advertisements were paid out of black money. Referring to Modi’s speech at Tuensang that the gathering was an answer to those who have divided the people, Capt Davar said “PM should tell us who does he have in mind” about causing division. “We have not seen any PM in the country who tells so many lies, we expect the PM to tell the truth,” he added.   He alleged it was the RSS which had divided the people since independence with their divisive and communal agenda. “BJP is dictated by RSS and gets orders from RSS headquarter, Nagpur,” he alleged.   Capt. Davar also termed as “anti-national” the recent statement of RSS Chief, Mohan Bhagwat that India was a “Hindu Rashtra” and added that it contradicts the Constitution of India which clearly defines the country as “secular.”
