Do not mix around with our party affairs: NPF snaps at NDPP

Kohima, June 14 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) today asserted that it will play a “constructive role as an opposition” and advised the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) “not to mix around with the affair of the NPF party.”

In a counter rejoinder to the statement issued by NDPP regarding various proceedings from NPF’s Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting held on June 12, the NPF slammed the latter’s “blatant child-like statement” attacking the “oldest regional political party of the region.

It was no surprise that the NDPP was following “each and every move and utterances of the NPF party keeping their finger cross, hiccupping with unrest for the safety of their chairs,” the NPF Press Bureau stated in its rejoinder.

It also advised the NPDD to be “sincere enough in their approach in giving development to the people while they are at the helms of affair.”

Further claiming that the leaders of NDPP were “manufactures of the NPF party,” the NPF reminded the former that they should know well that the party (NPF) “functions with transparency.”

Therefore, the party president’s statement during the CEC meeting was the “reflection of the NPF way of functioning where party do not function unofficially but collectively take the decision as deemed fit for the interest of the people,” the rejoinder explained.

“Unlike the NDPP, the NPF believes and practice inner party democracy and thereby both the party functionaries and legislators function in tandem.”

Reminding the NDPP that it was their “prerogative” to take any decision, made its stand clear that during the last parliamentary election, the NPF “supported the Congress candidate on the basis of one-time arrangement and it is only a political expediency.”

Apropos the Naga integration issue, the NPF reiterated that it is the birthright of the Naga people and the NPF will never compromise on this issue and will continue to pursue the integration of the Naga ancestral areas.

It slammed Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, when in April last year, the CM had declared to the media in New Delhi that integration was not possible; then facing repercussion, had shifted the blame game to the then Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The NPF further urged the NDPP to “give a serious thought while expressing their opinions on the recently held parliamentary election,” stating a clear indication that for the “first time in the history of Nagaland parliamentary election,” a ruling Government candidate won by just 16 thousand votes.”

“It is a clear message for the NDPP that the general masses are not with them,” it stated.

Meanwhile, the NPF advised the NDPP led Government to be committed to their promises and carry forward the welfare of the people so that the state may progress under their government.
