Mokokchung, October 12 (MExN): The faculty of Fazl Ali College today bid farewell to Hokheto Sumi at a programme was chaired by Tiamongla, the college Vice Principal.
Sumi, a facaulty in History department, was recently promoted as the Principal of Yingli Government College, Longleng.
S Arenla Longkumer, Principal of the College congratulated the officer on his promotion and enumerated the qualities of the outgoing officer as a gentle, compassionate, helpful man who was also a great orator and an asset to the Election process of the college.
He would be leaving behind a void in the college, she said.
The president of FACTA, Watitoshi, Assistant Professor, Mathematics, also spoke on the services rendered by the outgoing officer to FACTA in various capacities as President (1998), Executive member (2002-4, 2007-09 and 2013-15), nominating Committee Convenor from 2011-13.
He also remarked on the testimony given by students about the interesting lectures delivered by Hokheto as a teacher.
Dr. I. Wati Imchen, HoD, Department of History, reminisced about their life together as colleagues in the same department for many years and remembered how the officer was a student friendly teacher who always put the welfare of the students foremost in his priorities.
The outgoing officer also responded on how he would miss the institution for which he had given the best years of his life. The programme ended with a special prayer for the outgoing officer by Dr. Lanurenla, Assistant professor, English.
