GoI and NSCN-K (Khango) extend ceasefire

DIMAPUR, APRIL 6 (MExN): The Government of India has signed a ceasefire extension agreement with the NSCN/GPRN-K (Khango). A notice from the Ministry of Home Affairs stated that the two entities have “mutually decided to extend the Ceasefire Agreement with effect from April 18, 2023 for a period of one year i.e. till April, 2024 to bring about a lasting peace in the State of Nagaland with the involvement of Naga people.”  The Ceasefire will be subject to adherence to the Ceasefire Ground Rules mutually agreed and signed by the two sides, it stated, while adding that the Ceasefire Ground Rules will be subject to mutual review and amendment with the involvement of both the parties. Both the parties appended their signatures to give effect to the Ceasefire Agreement—Piyush Goyal, Additional Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs; along with Imyapangba  Ao, Supervisor, CFSB, NSCN-K (Khango); and Akato Yeptho, Member, CFSB, NSCN-K (Khango)
