Zeliang, Director of Barak Football Club and Executive Member, Dimapur District Football Association, congratulated the NFCA for the successful conduct of the coaching camp. He acknowledged the camp as a “very good initiative” and assured his support to the NFCA for future endeavours.   A fan of football himself, Kuchi exhorted the youngsters to take active interest and pursue sports as a career. In this, he called on parents to be supportive towards their children. “Let the children have the freedom of choosing their career,” he urged.   In a bid to inculcate discipline, the NFCA encouraged the children to uphold discipline both at home and in school besides the football field. The children were also urged to practice regularly and to be in touch with the world of football.   At the same time, the NFCA also impressed upon the children that proper education and school are pre-requisites of a “complete footballer”.   As the young children perform different drills with the ball under the watchful eyes of the coaches, parents are visibly happy. “Our children don’t want this camp to stop. They are more excited about attending this camp than school,” a mother at the camp laughed and expressed hope that such camps will be held again soon.   Earlier, the five-day coaching camp got underway on March 27 with Khekato V Tuccu as chief guest at the inaugural.   Felt long overdue, the camp will go a long way in enhancing the football scenario in the state.
