IGNOU Study Centre opened in Phek Town

Phek, July 25 (MExN): The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Study Centre-2037 at Phek Government College (PGC) was formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Phek, Murohu Chotso here on July 25.  

The DC urged the public of the town and the entire neighbouring villages to avail the facilities so as to compete with the rest of the world. Appreciating the painstaking initiative of the then Principal of the college, Dr. V. Thingo, Chotso revealed that the introduction of IGNOU study centre in the college was initiated while Thingo was the principal. He further encouraged the people to obtain educational degree from IGNOU, while informing about the university's presence in 43 countries.

Urging upon the people to cooperate with the authority concerned, the DC further appealed to the authority to discharge their duties sincerely thereby aiming at delivering excellent service to the people of the area so as to let them move to a higher level.  

The inaugural function was led by Shekhohu Chizo, Coordinator, IGNOU Study Centre, Phek, welcome note was delivered by PGC Principal, Dr. Katoni Jakhalu, while activities and functions of IGNOU was highlighted by Regional Director, IGNOU Kohima, Dr. T. Iralu.
