KDCC ‘welcomes’ move of urban development dept

Kohima, November 18 (MExN): The Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) today welcomed the decision of the Urban Development Department in cancelling the e-Procurement Notice Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued through Bid No. EE/UDD/AMRUT/TENDER/2016-17(Pt) dated October 18, 2019.

KDCC President Kevi Vizo in a press release “appreciated that the Department has accepted our appeal made through the local dailies to take cognizance that such tenders would only encourage corruption.” KDCC also acknowledged the sagacity of officials present at the 11th State Level Technical Committee meeting held on November 7, wherein it was decided to cancel the said tender.

Nonetheless, KDCC reiterated that no government department should insert such unwanted clauses discouraging the contractors to bid lowest for any work. It affirmed to continue to stand firm against any such corrupt practice followed by the government departments even in the days to come.  Further, KDCC opined that the Urban Development Department “should divide various contract works as per the colonies and wards so that the young upcoming entrepreneurs can take up the works easily.”

Meanwhile, it acknowledged the individuals and organizations who “came forward physically and also through their write up in the media supporting the genuine cause taken up by KDCC.” It looked for continued support of the general public in the interest and welfare of the Nagas in general.
