Kiphire DC cautions DPDB meeting absentees

Morung Express News Kiphire | February 5   Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), Kiphire, A. Chumremo Odyuo, has warned the departments which habitually remain absent from the DPDB meeting that that Board will take necessary action from now on. Speaking at the monthly DPDB meeting held at the DC conference hall here today, Odyuo expressed that in the district, there are more than 30 sub-committees and if officers are not in station at least a week in one month, the district will not go forward. Hence, he asked the members present to take note of it seriously.   Meanwhile, the chairman of the Board and Power Minister, C. Kipili Sangtam, asked the members present to be sincere in their responsibilities and be attentive in the DPDB meetings, terming it is one of the most important district meetings on development.  He assured the officers to extend all possible help if there is any. He further told the officers to share any grievances and difficulties for the welfare of the citizens. Taking part in the meeting agendas, the Minister also assured to look into the matters relating to installation of street light in all the key locations in the town.   Er Khose Sale, Superintending Engineer (D&R), Chief Engineer, Power highlighted the overall activities of the State electrical department. He mentioned that of the target of 220 crore revenue, the State is getting only 100 crore. Therefore, he asked the gathering to discourage power theft and also encourage power conservation.   The meeting, attended by officers, civil societies, and HoDs, also set up DPDB verification committee, Agri & Allied department committee for sales day.
