‘Know Your Rights & Entitlement Awareness Campaign’

Kohima, July 12 (MExN): The Professor-in-Charge & President NVCO Kezhokhoto Savi will be officially launching “Know Your Rights & Entitlement Awareness Campaign” on July 13 at Kohima Law College.  

A press release from Kezhokhoto Savi, Professor-in-Charge, BCI Practical & Training, Kohima Law College said that the objective of launching “Know Your Rights & Entitlement Awareness Campaign” is to create more awareness on citizen legal rights and entitlement.  

Topics to be declared during the launching programme are Consumer Rights, Food Safety & Standard Act, Human Rights, Lokayukta, National Food Security Act, Environmental, Street Vendors Act, Public Services Delivery System and more, it said.  

The final year students of LL.B led by its Professor-in-Charge, Kezhokhoto Savi will also be conducting awareness campaign in colleges, it said.  

Adding that the state government as the Supreme Court of India on Tuesday has given a deadline of three months time to several states including Nagaland to appoint Lokayukta or Upa-Lokayukt, the Nagaland Lokayukta Act, 2017 is dully assented by the Governor of Nagaland on December 21, 2017, it further stated.  

As recently alerted to all citizens of the huge harmful injection of formalin into fishes available in our daily market, the sense of importance in learning the Food Safety & Standard Act is alarming now. Nagaland is lacking in setting up of State Human Rights Commission in the state. Every citizen as a consumer is required to know their “Consumer Rights” under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986.
