KOHIMA, January 14 (MExN): Our Lady of Lourdes Church Zelome celebrated its Golden Jubilee from January 12 to 14 under the theme “Saved by Grace through Faith” at the Local Ground, Zelome Village. During the Jubilee Day that was observed today, Rev. Fr. Carolus Neisalhou Kuotsu, Vicar General, Kohima Diocese shared in his homily that the celebration of jubilee is very common in our state but asked “whether we understand the meaning of celebration of our jubilee.” Citing references from the Bible, he said that the Jews were called to build a close relationship with God and make the Jubilee celebration a time of liberation, restoration, reconciliation and jubilation. Towards this end, he urged, “May we have a new journey of faith. May this Jubilee celebration be a moment of a feast of Epiphany for all of us.” “My prayer and wish is that may this jubilee celebration, which is a call to new life and a new road, may it help us to find a better road to travel, a holier road of love, peace and forgiveness and lead us to true salvation,” he added. MLA Deo Nukhu, who graced the felicitation program as the special guest recalled that he had received his education from a Catholic institution and extended his appreciation to the Catholics for providing education especially in the Razeba range. Highlights of the Jubilee Day included unveiling of the monolith and High Mass. During the felicitation programme, speeches were delivered by the first catechist, Potokho, Venüzo John Zholia, Feast Father and Rev. Fr. Carolus Neisalhou Kuotsu, Vicar General, Kohima Diocese, who was the main celebrant. Speakers for the three day Golden Jubilee Celebration were Rev. Fr. Neikhalo Patrick who spoke on the topic “Living a life of witnessing the Gospel”, Rev. Fr. (Dr). Anang Pereira SJ who spoke on “Saved by grace through faith”, and Dr. Mario Joseph, a renowned International Charismatic Preacher.
