Mon, January 17 (MExN): Mon Area Students Union begins its 10th session sports tournament on January 17 at Local Ground Mon HQ with Thongwang, Advisor DUDA as the chief guest. The chief guest said that benefits should be made out of such tournament because sports men and women are respected and honoured more than a politician or business men encouraging the part takers to walk in the ways of sports superstars and to excel in the field of sports like them. He also added that today there might be somewhere going wrong under the leadership of our Prime Minister Modi but it will go right very soon someday. He appreciate the Youth Resource Officer Mon for introducing District Level competition under Khelo India for 2016-17 reminding the players of the selection for it which will start from this tournament with the scholarship for 12 months and 10-15% consideration and reservation for job those who are selected under Khelo India. Therefore it's a request to take part in Khelo India with discipline and with the spirit of good sportsmanship like good sportsman and woman, he adds. Lastly he request the Mon Area Students Union to introduce football for women as it is not for men alone, which he said is very much important for the district and he declared the tournament open with the first match between Leangha Students Union and Totok Chingnyu Students Union. Totok Chingnyu Students Union emerged as winner of the match with the score 3 to 2.
