MCCI general meeting held, New office bearers appointed

Mokokchung, March 29 (MExN): The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) held its 29th general meeting today at MMC Complex  during which, among other things, the chamber nominated its new team of office bearers for the tenure 2016-’19. Resolutions adopted in the meeting included reaffirmation of the earlier resolution that businesses will not “register” with any other underground entity in Mokokchung, that the MCCI Constitution be reviewed for amendment and that a special committee be set up mobilize resources for the proposed MCCI complex.  

Senior advisor of MCCI, M. Bendangnukshi Longkumer exhorted the gathering while T. Senka Walling spoke on the topic “Mokokchung as market for entire northern Nagaland.” The proceedings of the meeting also included presenting and tabling of Audit Report, General Report and Nominating Committee Report. The meeting was chaired by the incumbent president Moasangba Jamir while the general secretary MN Rai was the rapporteur of the meeting.   The house also adopted the nominating committee’s report whereby Tsukti Longkumer and Yimtisunep were appointed as president and vice president. Limalenden Longkumer was appointed general secretary while the joint secretaries included Opangrenba (Organization), Shyam Sunder Dayama (Finance), Senti Walling (Information & Publicity) and Imkongchuba (Administration). M.Bendangnukshi Longkumer and Moasangba Jamir were appointed as senior advisors.   The newly appointed president while delivering his acceptance speech declared that striving to make Mokokchung the state’s next commercial centre, fighting against forces that may try to disturb the peaceful environment of Mokokchung and checking corrupt practices in the market would be his priorities as president of MCCI apart from working for the welfare of each and every member of the chamber. He also sought the love, support, cooperation and prayers of all concerned.
