‘Mission Clean Dzükou’

Kohima, June 8 (MExN): Commemorating World Environment Day, the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) in collaboration with the Kohima District Legal Services Authority, Kohima Law College and the Southern Angami Youth Organisation undertook a cleanliness drive at Dzükou Valley on June 5.  

‘Mission Clean Dzükou’ with the theme Beat Plastic Pollution was flagged-off by Justice L. S. Jamir, Judge Gauhati High Court & Executive Chairman, NSLSA.  

A brief introduction on the Mission Clean Dzükou was delivered by the chair of the programme, Mezivolu T Therieh, NJS, Member Secretary, NSLSA. Short speeches were also given by Kezhokhoto Savi, Professor, Kohima Law College and Prem Prakash, Director, Kids’ Heaven School & Co- Founder of Sarvahitey Foundation.  

A pledge was taken by all participants for adopting eco-friendly lifestyle which was initiated by Nulhuvolu Rhakho, Panel Lawyer, Kohima District Legal Services Authority. The participants were Panel Lawyers, Para Legal Volunteers, staff of NSLSA, Professors and students of Kohima Law College and members of the Southern Angami Youth Organisation.  

After the cleanliness drive, the garbage collected from the Dzükou valley was handed over to Kohima Municipal Council for safe disposal.
