More observes WED 2018

Phek Students’ Union: Phek Students’ Union observed World Environment Day under the aegis of Chakhesang Students’ Union. The occasion was marked by tree plantation and cleaning up of plastic litters in the vicinity at Phek village.  

Dainty Buds School: Dainty Buds School, Kohima celebrated the World Environment Day by organizing an awareness programme on the theme ‘Reducing Plastic Pollution.’ Resource persons were Theja Theunuo, Sociologist and Avi, Community organizer. The school also participated in the mascot competition organized by the All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA) Kohima Unit and bagged the first prize. Students of Class 10 & 12 distributed newspaper and paper bags to shops in Kohima town spreading the message of ‘Beat Plastic Pollution.’  

Modern College: With an effort to imbibe in students concern and compassion towards environment, the Eco-Green Club of Modern College Kohima observed World Environment Day at the college premises by conducting poster and essay competitions on the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution.’ The winners of the competitions received certificates and cash prizes. Kawe-ü Kreo, Convener of the Club, briefed the participants about the history and the significance of World Environment Day and stressed on the immediate need to observe it at bigger platforms every year by every establishments and institutions.  

Model HSS: Model Higher Secondary School, Kohima observed World Environment Day organized by the Eco Club members with various activities –essay writing, painting, poetry out-loud and cleaning in and around the school campus.  

CTBC YM: Changtongya Town Baptist Church Youth Ministry observed the World Environment Day by donating a dustbin each to all the Offices and Schools under Changtongya Town jurisdiction. Queen Mary HSS: Queen Mary Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung had observed World Environment Day by conducting a cleanliness drive and planting of tree saplings in the school compound. The programme was conducted under the initiative of the Eco-Club. Principal, Rev. Fr. John along with the eco-club coordinator Gabriel, student members and teachers participated in the event.  

Lavenders Club: In commemoration of World Environment Day, Lavenders Club T.Khel, Kohima Village planted various types of tree saplings at the Lavenders garden T.Khel, Kohima Village.  

Nagaland House New Delhi: Nagaland House New Delhi staff observed the World Environment Day at New Delhi with Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya as the chief guest. The programme was chair by Principal Resident Commissioner (PRC) Jyoti Kalash. After a short programme, trees were planted at Nagaland House.
