VHSNC training underway in Mon
Mon, December 9 (MExN): The District Health Society, Mon started its training on Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Committee (VHSNC) on December 4. The training, which will continue till December 12, focuses on community participation, need for VHSNCs, formation of VHSNCs, activities & outcomes of VHSNCs and Annual Village Health Plan. Resource persons for the training are Dr. Supongmenla Walling, DPO (RCH&UIP), Bonnie Konyak, DPM, NHM, and Dr Kumkiuba, Epidermologist IDSP.
AR apprehend ZUF (K) cadre
Jalukie, December 9 (MExN): 36 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) apprehended Sergent Major Haijowang of ZUF (K), aged 28, during an operation launched along with a police representative in New Jalukie on December 7. The operation was conducted based on specific information regarding presence of ZUF (K) cadre carrying out recruitment in the area, stated a press release from Assam Rifles. It alleged that the cadre revealed he had been carrying out recruitment for the ZUF (K) faction. Haijowang was handed over to Jalukie Police Station for further investigation.
Chuba Pongener new CAO of NSCN (IM) UT-I
Hebron, December 9 (MExN): Chuba Pongener, Kilonser has taken the charge of Caretaker CAO of the Union Territory (UT)-I, NSCN (IM) on December 6, informed a press release from Ministry of Information & Publicity, NSCN (IM). The UT-I seeks full cooperation from each and every individual, the Hohos, various organizations, associations, students’ bodies, GBs, colony chairmen, church leaders, etc. for smooth functioning of the administration and peace in our society, the UT-I Secretary stated. Shops in Chümoukedima allowed to open on Sundays
Chümoukedima, December 9 (MExN): In view of the festive season, all shops within Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) area have been permitted to keep their shops open on Sundays for the convenience of the general public. “This order shall come to force from December 10, 2017 and remain till January 7, 2018,” stated an order from Thejavizo Nakhro, EAC-cum-Administrator CTC.
Chetheba Youth Day from Dec 14
Chetheba, December 9 (MExN): The Chetheba Town Youth Organization will hold its 37th ‘Youth Day 2017’ from December 14 to 15 at the Local Ground, Chetheba, Phek district. The two-day event will be marked by Football, Basketball, Volleyball, tug of war etc.
KVK Kohima organizes awareness programme
Kohima, December 9 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kohima organized one day awareness programme on World Soil Health Day on December 5 at KVK conference hall. The programme was held to create awareness about the importance of soil testing, soil health cards and its benefits, informed a press release from Dr. V. Akashe Zhimomi, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Kohima. It was attended by farmers, farm women, village council members, SHG members and Farmers Club members from neighbouring villages, namely Upper Tesophenyu, Lorin, Zisunyu, and Ziphenyu. The highlight of the progamme included distribution of 91 soil health cards, demonstration of soil testing facilities available at KVK Kohima, distribution of seedlings, scientists-farmers interaction, the release said.
NSCN (R) UT-1 condoles
Dimapur, December 9 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) UT-1 has expressed grief and sadness at the demise of Maho Lotha, Leacy UT-1 staff, who passed away on December 5 after a prolonged illness in Dimapur. A condolence note from Khekato Kinny, Kilonser cum Supervisor UT-1, on behalf of the region, stated that late Maho will be remembered for having served the Naga Nation with “utmost sincerity and dedication in all his assigned works”. The NSCN (R) UT-1 expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
NVFAA elects new office bearers
Dimapur, December 9 (MExN): The Nagaland Veterinary Field Assistants’ Association (NVFAA) held its 18th General Conference on November 16 at Town Hall, Dimapur and elected a new team of office bearers for the year 2017 to 2020. The new team will be led by B. Imlier Jamir as President and Nosazonu Puyo as General Secretary.
