SACYA holds first presidential meeting

Kohima, March 15 (MExN): The first presidential meeting cum liturgical calendar year plan of the Southern Angami Catholic Youth Association (SACYA) was held at St. Francis Xavier’s Parish Church, Kidima under Kohima Diocese on March 15. The director of Eden Garden, Khuzama, Reverend Father Raymond D’Souza SJ, was the main celebrant.  A press release informed that Reverend Father Raymond D’Souza SJ shared the history of mankind, where prosperous people brought disaster by forgetting God, the creator of heaven and earth. Prosperous people think for their money, wealth and power instead of Almighty God, he added. Father D’Souza further emphasized that the way to salvation is through faith, repentance and following the commandments of God. In his homily, Father D’Souza also urged the faithful to ask pardon for their sins from God.  The parishes from Southern Angami region, church units of SACYA attended the liturgical year plan meeting. The president of SACYA Kenongol Mark presided over the programme, said the release.

CMO rectifies meeting timing

Kohima, March 15 (MExN): The media cell of Chief Minister’s Office has corrected that the meeting of the legislature parties of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) convened on March 16 will be held at the State Banquet Hall at 10:00 am to be followed by the meeting of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) Legislature Party. The meeting has been convened to discuss business matters relating to the Eight Session of the Twelfth Nagaland Legislative Assembly. All members, except the suspended NPF, MALs have been requested to attend the meeting.

National Rural Drinking Water & Sanitation Awareness week

Kohima, March 15 (MExN): The National Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Awareness week will take place from March 16 to 22. The launching function will be held on March 16, 11:00 am at PHED Conference Hall, Kohima. Anenla S. Longchari, IAS, secretary, PHED Nagaland will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Keynote address will be delivered by Er. Kevisekho Kruse, chief engineer, PHED Nagaland. The function will be led by Er. K. Ghushito Sumi, director, WSSO, PHED Nagaland, while vote of thanks will be proposed by Er. J. Walter, additional chief engineer, PHED Nagaland.

NSCN (K) informs

Dimapur, March 15 (MExN): The NSCN (K) has issued a stern warning against individuals impersonating the NSCN (K) and indulging in collecting tax, especially in Dimapur. In a press statement, NSCN (K) stated it will no longer tolerate against such persons, but take stern actions as per the government Azha.  The NSCN (K) through its Secretary Khekaho Rochill further notified to all the establishments, unions, business trade and commerce in Dimapur to deal with Col. Akaho zhimo and Dy/Secy. K. Chishi for the current year 2014-15. Also, it informed all not to entertain anyone for the year 2015-16, even as an advance, till further order.

SDEO Dimapur informs

Dimapur, March 15 (MExN): Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) of Dimapur has directed all the government schools to collect the newly arrived free text books for Class 5 and 6 (Sub: New Gem’s English Reader), which were short supplied in the first round, on March 16 and 17 (Monday and Tuesday) during office hour.

TVYO bans hunting, fishing, tree cutting etc

Kohima, March 15 (MExN): The Tsiesema Village Youth Organisation (TVYO) in an effort to preserve flora and fauna has decided to ban hunting, fishing, cutting of trees, collection of wild leaves, and jungle burning within the village jurisdiction with immediate effect. Stating this in a press release, TVYO president Mhalelhou informed that the TVYO at its meeting also resolved to impose heavy fine on anybody violating the resolutions. The organization further requested all concerned to cooperate with its initiative.
