Justice Ajit Singh to inaugurate Legal Aid Clinic at Kohima Village Kohima, March 20 (MExN): Justice Ajit Singh, Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh and patron-in-chief of Nagaland State Legal Services Authority will inaugurate Legal Aid Clinic at Kohima village on March 21. The function will take place at Kohima Village Council (KVC) hall at 9:00 AM. Parliamentary Secretary Khriehu Liezietsu and Kohima Village Council chairman Neivor Rutsa will also address the function. Keynote address will be delivered by Justice Nishitendu Chaudhury, executive chairman, Nagaland State Legal Services Authority and Judge, Gauhati High Court. KES to publish book on Naga war veterans Kohima, March 20 (MExN): The Kohima Educational Society (KES) have decided to compile the list of Naga war veterans in the form of book. In this connection, the Naga veterans who fought in the battle of Kohima during World War II have been requested to keep in touch with KES. KES president Charles Chasie said the Society wanted to recognize all the Naga war veterans and put on record and treasure the same in the form of publication. HCS Alumni Nite on April 17 Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): Holy Cross School (HCS) Dimapur Alumni will be holding its Alumni Nite on April 17, from 6PM onwards at Aiko Green, Jorpukhuri, near Zion Hospital Dimapur.  A press note on behalf of the Alumni said the decision for the same was taken at its general meeting held on March 20. DDGBA adopts resolution Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): Dimapur District GB Association (DDGBA) has resolved to support the resolutions of Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) adopted on March 15 and also extend full cooperation to NGBF. This decision was made during the executive meeting of DDGBA held on March 19. The Association also resolved to support the three-point resolutions of the UNTABA in regards to border issue, and decided to cooperate and participate as and when necessary. The meeting was presided over by Tokuho Suhoi Neho, President, and recorded by Kenith Tsopoe, General Secretary, DDGBA, a press release from DDGBA Information & Publicity Secretary Akhu Gangmei said. It was also informed that DDGBA will have office on first and third Saturdays every month from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Ex. Underground Khellers meeting Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): A meeting of Ex. Underground Khellers of Industrial Village Razhüphe has been convened on March 22, 11:00 am at the residence of the village council’s chairman TL Angami at Industrial Village Razhüphe, Dimapur. All members concerned have been requested to attend the said meeting without fail. Free medical camp at Rengmapani village Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): The Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ), an apex youth organization of Rengma and Red Cross Society of India Tseminyu branch, is organising one day free medical camp at Rengmapani village on March 22 at the village panchayat compound. Therefore, president of the organization has informed all the neighbouring villages also to come and avail the services. Renowned doctors will be attending the camp, according to the president. GPS Zienuobadze school building inauguration Kohima, March 20 (MExN): The school building inauguration of Government Primary School, Ward No-1, Zienuobadze, Kohima will take place on March 22 at 10:00 am. Kohima Deputy Commissioner Rovilatuo Mor will grace the occasion as the chief guest. School Education Director Senthang and Zasilhoulie Zumvü, chairman, Panchayat Ward No I will also exhort the gathering.   PDLSA observes Int'l Women’s Week Peren, March 20 (MExN): Peren District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) in collaboration with the Jalukie Town Women Welfare Association observed International Women’s Week cum legal awareness programme at Jalukie Town in Peren district with the theme ‘Pledge for Parity’. Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Peter Lichamo, in his keynote address spoke on gender equality and child psychology pointed out that Naga society is a patriarchal society, but 90 % of the household is managed by the women; Therefore, it is very important for the women to be educated about child psychology along with legal rights to shape the children’s future, he added. A press release received here further informed that ‘Pledge for Parity – Women of the Past, the Present, the Future” was read out by Ajongba Imchen, Secretary, PDLSA and Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Peren, followed by lighting of candle by all the participants. He also highlighted the fundamental duties of every citizen and stated that it is one of the citizens’ duties to exercise Right to Information for the betterment of the society and not to misuse RTI. In the 2nd session, Panel Lawyers of PDLSA Asungbe, Italang Ramlia, Limasenla Longkumer and Esther K Aye spoke on various topics like Child Rights, Maintenance under 125 CrPC, various welfare schemes for women and gender equality.   Disability certification camp held in Changtongya Changtongya, March 20 (MExN): Free medical check-up, medicine and disability certification camp for mental illness and mental retardation was held on March 19 at Grace Society office complex at Changtongya Town. The programme was organized by Grace Society CBRF (Community Based Rehabilitation Forum), Changtongya in collaboration with District Mental Health Programme. Dr. Yanger, DPO (UIP/RCH/RBSK) Nodal Officer, Mental Health Programme and his five-member staff conducted the said health camp and distributed free medicine and certificate to the patients. A press release from the Grace Society informed that altogether, 17 patients with mental illness and mental retardation were given free medical check-up, medicine and disability certificate. The program was organized by Grace Society CBRF as part of their project to facilitate People with Disabilities in Langpangkong area in availing their various entitlements available to them from the Central and State government.
