IMFL worth 10 lakhs seized

Wokha, April 25 (DIPR): Wokha Police acting on a tip off seized a Truck loaded with illegal IMFL, bearing registration AS-05C-3724 on April 23. The vehicle carrying the consignment was suspected to be proceeding towards Wokha from Merapani. The driver managed to escape and abandoned the vehicle on the road side. Altogether 600 cases of different brands of liquor were seized. 450 case of MC Rum, 100 cases of Beer and 50 cases of MC Whisky. The consignment is estimated to be about 10 lakhs. In this connection a case was registered at Wokha Police Station under Section 44 NLTP, Case. NO-23/14. The seized items were destroyed on April 24 at Wokha in presence of District Administration, Police and Prosecuting staff.

Transfer and posting of officers

Kohima, April 25 (DIPR): The Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms (Personnel ‘A’ Branch) in a notification stated that in the interest of public service, Government of Nagaland has transferred and posted the following IAS/NCS officers with immediate effect: Dellirose Sakhrie, IAS, Additional Secretary, Social Welfare Department, is transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department. She shall hold temporary charge of Health & Family Welfare Department till the Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department returns from election duty. Consequently Beiu Angami, NCS, Secretary, Social Welfare Department and Health & Family Welfare Department is relieved of Health & Family Welfare Department.

Tuensang DPDB meeting held

TUENSANG, APRIL 25 (DIPR): District Planning and Developmental Board held a meeting on April 24 at DC Conference hall Tuensang. The meeting was chaired by Tuensang Deputy Commissioner, Mhabemo.  The construction of Childrens’ Park at Tuensang was discussed and decided to start the construction and find the appropriate location. The meeting also discussed the agendas on giving grand-in-aid and decided to take up St. James School, Shamator, and Montessori Kids Care School, Tuensang, for grand-in-aid as proposed. The meeting also discussed and approved upgrading Christian Hills School, Tuensang, from class 6 to class 8. The meeting concluded with the departmental reviews and updates.
