NSCN (IM) Angami Region cautions

Kohima, May 19 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) Angami Region has expressed concern over the “unwanted activities” including collection of donations being carried out in its name by “unscrupulous” persons within Angami jurisdiction. It warned that serious action would be initiated against any individual or group indulging in such “anti-social activities” in the name of NSCN (IM) Angami Region. A press release issued by T Akho Thepa, convener, Leacy Hoho, NSCN (IM) Angami Region further informed all concerned public and well-wishers that Atsü Thepa has taken over as the new CAO of Angami Region NSCN (IM). Therefore, all concerned have been requested to contact the CAO Angami Region NSCN (IM) through 9862833595 to inform about any such anti-social activities tarnishing the good image of the NSCN (IM). It also notified that any donations sought in the name of NSCN (IM) Angami Region should not be accepted without the knowledge of the CAO Angami Region.

NSF to felicitate Naga HSLC toppers

Kohima, May 19 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) will be organizing felicitation programme for the Naga HSLC Toppers 2014 on March 23 at 11:00 AM at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima. Kesonyü Yhome (IAS), Principal Director, School Education Nagaland will grace the function as Chief Guest while Watienla Jamir, Director, Horticulture Nagaland will exhort on behalf of the toppers’ parents. Vevotolu Kezo, Top No 3 will deliver speech on behalf of the Toppers. The NSF has extended its invitation to all the senior leaders, federating units/ sub-ordinate bodies, Naga Toppers 2014, parents and guardians of the Toppers to attend the programme, informed a release issued by NSF secretary education Bangdi Chawang.

Rio conveys condolences

Kohima, May 19 (MExN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed deep pain at the sudden demise of Dr. Ruunguto Zinyu, retired director of medical services. In a condolence message addressed to Neigevou, wife of Dr. Zinyu, Rio acknowledged that the deceased was a prominent citizen of Kohima who had made immense contributions towards the uplift of the society which will always be remembered. He had an exemplary service and gave the best years of his life in serving the state government, Rio said. After retirement, he continued to make valuable contributions for the cause of the society taking active part in mass based organizations and civil society, added the note. Further, stating that Dr. Zinyu’s passing away is a great loss to the society in general and Angamis in particular, Rio and his family members conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.

NHRA supports NRHU

Dimapur, May 19 (MExN): Nagaland Hotel & Restaurant Association (NHRA) has resolved to fully support the cause of the Naga Rice Hotel Union (NRHU) regarding butchers’ selling meat at higher rates than fixed by DMC. NHRA in a press release expressed surprise that “DMC has utterly failed to check the prices fixed by it.” NHRA earnestly urged the DMC to immediately instruct all the licensed meat shops to display the rates fixed by it in a board not less than 2ftx2ft with letter visible from 10ft away. NHRA also requested the general public to be aware and cautious of rates while buying meat or any other food items.

NCSU tells NFHRCC to cooperate

Kohima, May 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) head office Kohima has lauded the PWD (R&B) department for floating Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) as per Government standing order against Foot Hill Road construction. NCSU president Pele Khezhie and its general secretary John Kath in a press release further appealed to the Nagaland Foot Hill Road Construction Committee (NFHRCC) to cooperate with the norms of the department concerned.

NPC hopes Rio will play significant role

Kohima, May 19 (MExN): The members of Nagaland Peace Center (NPC), Kohima have congratulated Neiphiu Rio on his victory in the parliamentary election. “It is hoped that he (Rio) will play a very significant role in the national politics in New Delhi to find out an honourable solution to the age-old Naga political problem,” stated Nagaland Peace Center’s executive director Lhusi Haralu and its chairman N Theyo. “He is also fully aware of the long sufferings of Naga people because of unsolved Naga political problem. His charismatic and dynamic personality prevails upon the people of Nagaland because of his aqua-closeness and cooperative nature. We are looking forward through your able leadership towards peace and prosperity.”  

NPCC joint meeting on May 22

Kohima, May 19 (MExN): There will be a joint meeting of NPCC office bearers, NPCC executive members, PCC members, Frontal chiefs, and DCC presidents on May 22, 11:00 am at Congress Bhavan, Kohima. All concerned have been requested by NPCC general secretary Medokul Sophie to attend the meeting without fail.

‘B’ Khel New Chumukedima
village chairman informs


Dimapur, May 19 (MExN): All the land patta holders under ‘B’ Khel of New Chumukedima Village, “either allotted or said to be purchased” have been directed to produce their land documents including yearly house tax receipt before the “founder of ‘B’ Khel chairman” on or before May 31 for verification. Founder/ chairman of ‘B’ Khel, New Chumukedima Village, TL Angami has informed all the “khellers” to produce the above mentioned documents before the ‘B’ Khel authority during the stipulated time without fail. TL Angami in a press release reiterated that the areas of land at B’ Khel, New Chumukedima Village, where the allottees failed to live in, were treated as cancelled according to the condition printed in the patta form which were issued to each kheller. He stated that those cancelled cases will not be entertained.

Cherry Blossoms School


Kohima, May 19 (MExN): Kavita Datta, wife of Brig Monish Datta of 5th Sector Assam Rifles today gave away 15 sets of iron desks and benches to the children of Cherry Blossoms School for the school’s service to the down trodden and the differently-abled children. A press release informed that Kavita Datta expressed happiness to meet the children. She also wished the organization a bright future. The school management meanwhile expressed gratefulness for the valuable contribution. The program was chaired by Vengusale and prayers were pronounced by Pastor Felix of Pentecostal Church Kohima. The children performed dances and sang songs on the occasion.
