KMC fixes rates for pork and beef

Kohima, October 8 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has issued revised rates for sale of beef and pork with immediate effect till further notice. An order by the KMC Administrator Kovi Meyase on October stated that no butcher shops are to sell pork beyond the fixed price of Rs 250 per kg and beef at Rs 240 per kg within KMC jurisdiction. Further, the order stated that there will be no separate rate for local/non local pork/ dressed/undressed categories. In case of any rate fluctuation, they shall report for remedial measures, the order added. All meat shops have been directed to move towards colonies and will not be allowed in the national and district highways. One held for extortion in Kohima

Kohima, October 8 (MExN): The Kohima Police on October 7 arrested one person on charges of extortion from Tin Patti area, Kohima.  In this connection, 40 extortion slips belonging to NSCN (IM) and other incriminating items were seized from the possession of the accused, identified as Razu Peyu of NSCN (IM), Abei Kimho.   Accordingly, a case has been registered at North Police Station under relevant sections of law and further investigation is on, the Kohima Police PRO informed on Thursday.

New NSCN (IM) CAO Angami region takes charge

Dimapur, October 8 (MExN): The CAO Angami Region of the NSCN (IM) Zeneituo Angami on October 8 informed that the charge of Caretaker CAO Angami Region is being handed over to Khoselie Magi with immediate effect.  He further requested all citizens within Kohima, especially the Angamis to give support and cooperation to the incoming Caretaker CAO.

Dy CM condoles

Kohima, October 8 (MExN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister  (Dy CM) Y Patton on Thursday expressed shock and sadness at the news of the demise of Dr T Odyuo, Director V & AH (Retd) of Yikhum Village, who passed away on October 7 at Oking Hospital, Kohima. Late T Odyuo was one of the first to be educated among the Lotha community and from Englan Range in particular, Patton wrote. Describing late Odyuo as a ‘sincere and faithful government and a humble and wonderful human being’, the Dy CM added that his demise is a loss not only for the family but for the Lotha community in particular and the Nagas in general. The Dy CM and his family conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members prayed for their comfort and rest for the departed soul. 

MP Governor’s demise mourned

Kohima, October 8 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland R N Ravi on Thursday mourned the demise of Lalji Tandon, Governor of Madhya Pradesh, who passed away on July 21 last. In his death the country has lost a dedicated and sincere public leader, the Governor said. Conveying deepest condolences to the bereaved family members, the Governor also prayed for strength to bear the loss and for eternal peace to the departed soul.
