NPF Phokhungri special consultative meeting

Phek, May 30 (MExN): A special consultative meeting of the NPF party workers of Phokhungri area under Meluri sub-division of Phek district was held at Shilloi Lake resort on May 27. Party leaders and village leaders from 10 villages of the area attended the meeting, informed a press release from N. Aron, recorder and Rüzhüse Perry, chairman of the meeting.   T. Kamsang, President, NPF, 20 Meluri Assembly Constituency in his short speech narrated how he has worked for the NPF party for years now, including as a president for 23 years. He called upon the party workers to sincerely work for the success of the party even in the days to come. He also urged them to work united for betterment of the people, the release said.  

Penthu Pochury, former president of Pochury Hoho spoke on the circumstances leading to the Independents joining the NPF in the last general election, the release said. He recounted the leaders of the then Independent group joined the party and supported Yitachu without any ill motive. He appealed to the party workers to bury their differences and work unitedly for the NPF party to ensure another success in the forthcoming general election.  

Meanwhile, S. Akho Leyri, general secretary of NPF Central office also reiterated the Independent group joined NPF and supported Yitachu in the last general election with good intention and without any ulterior motive as many people might have assumed and accused, according to the press release. He admitted that initially there was so much brouhaha among the party workers in the area even long after the general election. “He, however, clarified that the move was simply to strengthen the hand of Yitachu in the service of the people with all its available resources and avenues,” it added. Akho also informed the NPF party men and women that there was no hidden agenda while joining the NPF except that the NPF candidate shall render his service to the people with equal treatment to all. He appealed to the party people not to be misled by rumours instead “bury the dangerous suspicious feelings” and work sincerely for the people. He also called upon the party workers to work hard and help the NPF candidate Yitachu win the forthcoming general election.
