‘PDA government committed to provide stable government’

Nagaland Minister for Planning & Coordination and Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu today asserted that the one-year old Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)-led People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government is committed to provide stable government and take the state towards development and progress. 

Regretting that he was part of the last Naga People’s Front (NPF) government for failing to bring about any visible development due to internal bickering for power because of leadership crisis, he said “the present PDA partners are firmly under the able-leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton”.

Wooing electorates in three places under Phek district today - Chetheba, Sekrezu and Phek for the PDA consensus candidate and NDPP nominee, Tokheho Yepthomi for the Lok Sabha polls, Kronu also lambasted the NPF for trying to misguide the general populace after PDA took over the reign by saying that the NDPP MLAs will be derecognized by Election Commission. 

Nonetheless, he asserted that the PDA alliance is strong and stable and we will complete the tenure. He maintained that it is the NPF which is on the verge of collapsing anytime because of which it has failed to set up any candidate in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls. 

He also accused NPF of playing double standard politics as it has been tagging NDPP of supporting BJP and being communal while it is in coalition with BJP government in Manipur.  

“We have completed just one year in office and sincerely working hard to pursue development and reach the nook and corner of the State during the coming years,” he asserted. 

“A true politician will never spread false propaganda to misguide the general public,” Kronu said, while urging the people not to be misguided by such propagandas. 

Reiterating the stand of the PDA government on Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) 2006, he said though Nagas are protected against CAB but the entire North East is protesting its passage and Nagaland government also extends solidarity as CAB would also impact the state. 

Kronu also affirmed that the PDA government is for early solution of Naga political issue. He went on to state that the negotiating parties - Government of India and the Naga political groups are in the final stage of talks, which is likely to be concluded at the earliest. 

Nonetheless, he emphasized that all section of Naga people should come together consensually for an honourable solution of the political issue.

Further, while maintaining that Tokheho Yepthomi is the only regional candidate for the LS polls, the NDPP leader urged the electorates to cast their vote in his favour so as to have better coordination between the State Government and the MP to bring more developmental funds for the State.   

Pointing out that currently he himself is the only MLA in the government from Phek district, Kronu however said that the ensuing election is an opportunity for the people of the district to improve their performance and be with the government. “If you improve your performance, you will be strengthening your own position in the government while wooing the electorates,” he said. 

NDPP working President Nuzota Swuro, BJP Nagaland ex-Servicemen Cell convener Vekho Swuro, NDPP leaders Kupota Khesoh, Dr K Hoshi & Kudecho Khamo, Ex-MLA Khuosatho, BJP Phek district president Niicutso Ruho and NDPP Phek Region president Mosonyi Domeh also addressed the PDA rallies.
