Kohima, September 8 (MExN): NCC Cadets of Peren Government College (PGC) under the aegis of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC observed International Literacy Day on September 8 with an aim “to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies.”
A press release stated that the Cadets visited villages of Peletkie, Kepeuzang and Peren Town to sensitise the inhabitants with good reasons to be literate and contribute towards social and human development. They also targeted children to develop interest towards education.
Later, Lt CH Kanga Andrew, Associate NCC Officer of Government College Peren addressed the villagers of Peletkie Village. The Cadets also carried out banner march in the Peren Town and the neighbouring villages.
