Photography contest captures ‘Image of Mokokchung’

 In commemoration of World Photography Day, a photography contest was held for the amateur photography enthusiasts of Mokokchung. The contest was initiated by Toshi Kichu, a photographer himself, under the theme “Image of Mokokchung”, with an aim to promote photography and to encourage amateur photographers of Mokokchung.  

Around 30 photo entries were exhibited at Imlong Place, Mokokchung town, from which Imkongsenla from Kumlong ward bagged the first prize for her photo captioned ‘Reflection of a church on a concrete after a rainy day in Mokokchung’, while Toshi Aier and Aren Changkiri, bagged the second and third prize espectively.  

The judges for the contest were Lensana, Menuolhoulie Kire and Limalenden Longkumer, while the special guest for the event was Chuba Walling, DPRO, Mokokchung. Chuba Walling, a photography enthusiast, in his short speech said that good photographs are the visuals that open doors for the past and also the future. He encouraged the people of Mokokchung to take more interest in photography and also congratulated Toshi Kichu for his effort in promoting photography in the town. Morung Express News
