Poll training on webcasting held at Kohima

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 17 (MExN): Training on webcasting system for polling was conducted at DPDB conference hall, Kohima on February 16. According to DIPR, the master trainers were Deputy Director, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Morimenber Amer, Assistant Librarian & Information Officer, K. H. Nanda, Senior Technician Assistant, NIELIT, Moasunep Kichu and T.H. Thomas.  

While stating that Election Commission of India (ECI) has instructed the State Government to identify certain polling station for webcasting, Morimenber Amer exhorted the trainees to take it as an opportunity and give their best. Senior Technical Assistant, NIELIT Moasunep Kichu stated that 555 polling stations in the state have been selected for poll webcasting and 64 polling stations from Kohima were selected.  

The trainees were given demonstration on how to install and operate the webcasting system at the polling station, which is to be installed one day before the poll. The Presiding Officer/1st Polling Officer (PO1)/Operator shall immediately inform the Master Trainers of the concerned district, if any error occurs in the system while setting it up or during the day of poll. Should the system malfunction, the matter should be immediately made known to the concerned Returning Officer (RO) and District Election Officer (DEO) who shall further inform the Chief Election Officer (CEO).
