St. Paul’s Parish Wokha celebrates Feast Day

Wokha, July 2 (MExN): St. Paul’s Parish Wokha celebrated its Parish Feast Day on July 1 at the parish church in commemoration of its Patron Saint, Paul the Apostle of the Gentiles.  

The event commenced with a Holy Mass celebration led by Rev. Fr. A.D Jose, the Parish Priest and Rev. Fr. Moses. In his homily, Rev. Fr. A.D Jose encouraged the congregation to welcome Christ in each of their hearts and strengthen their faith by coming closer to Christ and to always remain thankful to God, informed a press release from Limathung Patton, Catechist of St. Paul’s Catholic Church Wokha.  

In the second session, there was a singing and dance competition. The winners of the singing competition in three categories were High School community, Midland community, and Riphyim community respectively. In the dance competition, Riphyim community, Midland community, and Tourist community were adjudged winners in three categories. The winners in both the competitions walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 5000, Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2000 respectively.  

The first session of the programme was chaired by Chopathung Kikon, Asst. Catechist, Wokha and the second session was chaired by Nzanbemo Lapon, Church Secretary, Wokha.  

The Parish branch consisting of Riphyim, Chukitong, Humtso, Doyang and Wokha all participated in the event, the release said.
