State BJP observes Kamal Jyoti programme

Kohima, March 1 (MExN): Along with the rest of the country, Nagaland state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) observed Kamal Jyoti programme all over the state and organized the Kamal Deepak Jyoti programme at Hotel Japfu Kohima on February 26.


Kamal Jyoti is an outreach programme for party workers, leaders and legislators to interact with the Central Scheme beneficiaries and highlight the various schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Lighting a candle with the beneficiaries signify the light brought into the beneficiaries’ lives through the central schemes, stated a press release from State BJP general Secretary Jaangsillung Gonmei.


State Party President Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher and Technical Education spoke at length on the various schemes initiated by Prime Minister Modi.


He emphasized the party’s efforts for the betterment of every people irrespective of tribe, community and region. The party President also encouraged party workers to work hard with proper coordination to take the party to new heights.


The programme was chaired by Kavili Achumi, State General Secretary.


Jaangsillung Gonmei, State General Secretary and State Coordinator for Kamal Jyoti Programme highlighted the features of the outreach programme. He highlighted the statistics on central scheme beneficiaries in Nagaland during the last five years – Jan Dhan Yojana: 256579 (As on 30.1.2019); Mudra Yojana: Rs 429 crore (Till Date); Saubhgya Yojana (100% Electrification): 523870 New connections (Till date); PM Ujjwala Yojana (New Gas connections for Women): 47104 (As on 15.1.2019); Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Rural): 128793 units (As on 4.2.2019); Soil Health Cards: 221620 (As on 4.2.2019).
