Tongpang Ozukum conferred ‘Ideal Youth Legislator Award’; Nagaland CM lauds ‘colleague’

Nagaland Public Works Department Minister Tongpang Ozukum has been conferred with the Aadarsh Yuva Vidhayak Puraskar (Ideal Youth Legislator Award by the Indian Student Parliament.

The award instituted by the Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad was handed over to Ozukum during its 9th convention held on Sunday at Pune, PTI news agency reported on January 22 quoting a statement issued by Ozukum’s secretary.

The 9th BCS organised by the MIT School of Government (MIT-SOG) was held at the Pune MIT- WPU campus from January 18 to 20.

The convention is an annual event where thousands of students from different universities and youth leaders from across the country and abroad come to participate.

 The convention is supported by the union ministries of youth affairs & sports and higher & technical education, and the sports & youth welfare department of the government of Maharashtra, the report said.

MLA from Himachal Pradesh, Ashish Butail, it informed, was also honoured with the "Ideal Youth Legislator Award" in the same session.

Meanwhile, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio took to Twitter on Wednesday to congratulate his “colleague” on being conferred
the “prestigious” award.
