Tseminyu town, Kandi-Asükega get new transformers

Kohima, February 20 (MExN): The Power Department installed 2500 KV and 1600 KV Transformers for Tseminyu town and Kandi-Asükega area respectively in the interest of public service.


A press release from Kandi Public Union (KPU) said in the past years, the two areas faced a lot of inconvenience due to shortage of voltage and carrying capacity. Now, the upgraded version came as a huge relief for the consumers, it said.


As mentioned by Power Department, most villages were yet to pay outstanding bills against their village. In this regard, the Union asked the consumers to clear the dues immediately to avoid disconnection, adding every consumer is responsible and is bound to pay bills as per power utilization.


Meanwhile, the Union also shed concern on Tseminyu being one of the oldest Administrative HQ, was still headed by JE in the Power Sector. It urged Power Department to upgrade JE to SDO Power in the interest of public service.
