Use fund provided by Centre judiciously: UNDP tells Government

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 4 (MExN): The United Naga Democratic Party (UNDP), Nagaland said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while visiting the flood affected areas of Assam had very graciously extended flood relief to the North Eastern states including Nagaland.

In this connection, the UNDP president N Hotongse Sangtam in a press release urged the Nagaland Government to judiciously use the funds so generously granted by the central government solely for developmental works.

The UNDP also lamented that at present the roads are in horrible conditions and lots of bridges, especially in Dimapur have collapsed or are on the verge of collapsing. The people are also facing immense hardship on account of damages to houses and loss of property by floods and landslides.

Correspondingly, it has urged the various Nagaland state departments and officers to request the government of the day to carry out the developmental works truthfully.
