World Sunday School Day observed in Nagaland

  Dimapur, November 4 (MExN): Along with the rest of the world, various churches in Nagaland marked World Sunday School Day by organizing various services and activities on November 4.   Kiphire Town Baptist Lithro: Sunday School Prayer cum Graduation day was held at Kiphire Town Baptist Lithro organized by the Children Ministry KTBL under the theme “Participate in His Glory” with Athrongse Sangtam, Associate Secretary, Christian Education and Literature USBLA as speaker, a release from Horiba, Secretary, KTBL stated.   The speaker in his message said that every creation by God on earth and above was for a special purpose and that we should be one among the best in praising for his wonderful creation.   Encouraging the graduating students, he said, “be more vigil in their life Journey. Be determined and put God first in whatever they do.”   Various items like Bible memory, singing dancing etc were presented by the Students. Longdiba spoke on behalf of the Graduating Students.   Later in the afternoon, Youth department conducted a special programme welcoming 46 Graduated Students in the Youth Department.   Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar: At Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar (LBCD), World Sunday School Day programme, NBCC Education Secretary, Kohima, Pideno Kikon spoke on the topic, "The worth of a child."   Quoting from Psalms 127:3, the speaker described children as “a gift and heritage of God, given directly from the hands of God.” She reminded the congregation to ponder on their role as parents in the upbringing of their children as desired by God, as responsible parents, a DIPR release said.   Marking the day, Sunday School students enthralled the congregation by showcasing their talents through skits, choreography, dances, bible verses recitation etc.   Pastor LBCD, Limhathung Lotha delivered the welcome note and felicitated the Sunday school superintendent and all the teachers under him.   Tenyimia Church Kiphire Town: Tenyimia Church Kiphire Town celebrated World Sunday School day at the Church premises on November 4.   Pastor Kiphire Town Baptist Church Thujoveyi in a short speech shared that Sunday school was founded by Robert Raikes in 1780 in the city of Gloucester, England.   Having compassion for homeless and poor children, Robert Raikes was convicted to “train and teach the love of God and educate them to know God and experience the blessing of God in their life,” he said.   The pastor also exhorted the children to be obedient and added that obedience is the acceptance of the authority and the will of God. Sunday school Children participated in different kinds of activities like Bible recitation, choreography.
