Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): The Golden Jubilee celebration of Xekiye village and Baptist Church establishment was held today, February 13 with "Truth will set you free" (John 8:32) as the theme of the jubilee.
Marking the celebration, Executive Secretary of Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu, Reverend Dr Hevukhu Achumi unveiled the jubilee monolith in its commemoration and prayed for the villagers.
Delivering a message on the theme of the jubilee, Reverend Hevukhu said there was no short cut to righteousness and every man have to seek God's grace to be free from the bondage of sin. Man will prosper in life when he is free from sin, he said and encouraged the villagers to reap the blessings of the jubilee.
Reverend Dr ZK Rochill, Senior Auxiliary Secretary, Bible Society of India released the jubilee souvenir.
Phukato Zhimomi, head GB, Vihokhu village and Vikheho Rochill, head GB, Aichi Saghe village shared greetings while Kawoto X Aye, head GB, Xekiye village proposed words of acknowledgement.
Reverend Lutozhe Achumi, Pastor Xekiye Baptist Church delivered message during thanksgiving and afternoon services. Host of leaders and well wishers from surrounding villages attended the celebrations. The programme will culminate on February 14.
