Dimapur, July 15 (MExN): A 70 year-old man was arrested today in Dimapur for the murder of a minor. The accused was handed over to the police this morning by the Seiteki Basa council. According to the police, the accused, an unnamed non-Naga working as a farm hand, admitted to murdering his 5 year-old step-daughter. The murder occurred on July 12 after the child went missing from home earlier in the morning. The victim was found dead in the evening buried in a forested area. The suspicion fell on the accused, who later admitted to the villagers of the crime on July 14. On the day the child went missing, he was reportedly seen near the spot where she was found buried. The police said that the accused during the preliminary interrogation could not attribute a motive to the murder.
