
Zunheboto, November 28 (MExN): Zunheboto District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) held its District Level Co-ordination Committee meeting at Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall on November 27. A DIPR report stated that the meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo.
Dr Esther Chophy Ngullie, Dental Surgeon, District Hospital, Zunheboto highlighted about the activities carried out in the district. She stated that so far the DTCC has carried out awareness programme in 14 schools covering 2255 students, community awareness in three churches, two trainings on tobacco awareness and COTPA 2003 and one enforcement drive in the month of October and November. During the meeting 10 schools in Zunheboto were declared as tobacco free schools.
Dr Vihuto Asumi, Principal, Immanuel Higher Secondary School spoke on behalf of the tobacco free schools. Certificates of Tobacco Free School were given by the DC Zunheboto to Little Spring School, Immanuel Higher Secondary School, Step by Step School, Love Dale Higher Secondary School, Woodland Higher Secondary School, New Era School, Bethany School, St. Anthony School, Merry Hill School and Olympic Higher Secondary School.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr K Akaho Sema, Deputy CMO and Nodal Officer NTCP. The meeting was attended by the DC, SP, Deputy CMO, Principal of Zunheboto Government College, Church leaders, ZTYO, ANPSA members, students, dental surgeon DH and NTCP staffs.
