Kohima, May 3 (MExN): The Nagaland Basketball Association (NBA) in association with Suncity Kohima will be hosting its 10th edition of Open Basketball Tournament from May 7 to 12 at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground). Seyie Auto Maruti Suzuki is the official event sponsor for the tournament. The Morung Express is the official media partner while Lineage Sound is the official sound system partner. So far, 12 teams from across the state have registered for the tournament. The opening function of the tournament will commence at 1:00 pm and the matches will go on till 8 pm daily. Around 20 stalls will be set up in the arena where fans can enjoy different varieties of food and drinks. The organisers also announced that throughout the tournament, a few lucky fans will be picked from the ticket serial numbers and be given free food vouchers. Some reputed teams registered so far include: Team Taurus (Defending champions), Team Mystic Ballers, Mission Giants and one of the all time favorites, the Highland Dazzlers from Mokokchung. The organisers also announces that the champions will go home Rs 60,000 richer while the 1st runners up will get Rs.30,000. The two semi finalists will each take away Rs 10,000. The Most Valuable Player of the tournament will also pocket Rs 10,000. Table 3 will be the main entertainer of the tournament and they are all set to bring in with them some amazing local artists and talents.
