Mokokchung, September 22 (MExN): In the penultimate day of the ongoing 11th Imchaba Master Memorial Open Volleyball Tournament played here at Multi Sports Hall, Imkongmeren Sports Complex, teams from Longsa, Chakpa, Mangkolemba and Lakhuni defeated their respective opponents to move on to the semi-final stages. Volleyball powerhouse Longsa Sports Association will face Friends United Chakpa in the first semi-final while Sporting Club Mangkolemba will play Lakhuni Sporting Club ‘B’ in the other semi-final. Longsa Sports Association beat Volleyball for Peace Nagaland 27-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18 while Friends United Chakpa beat Kumlong Sporting Association 26-28, 25-12, 25-23, 26-24 in the first two quarter-final matches. Defending champions Adventure Club Changtongya were defeated by strong title contenders Sporting Club Mongkolemba 25-22, 25-22, 25-16 in the third quarter-final match while Lakhuni Sporting Club ‘B’ beat Lakhuni Sporting Club ‘A’ 25-13, 25-22, 25-12 to book their berth in the last four. The semi-final matches will be played on September 23 from 9:00 am and final match will be played the same day from 5:00 pm onwards followed by the closing ceremony with Nagaland Minister for NH & Mechanical Engineering & Elections, Nuklutoshi as chief guest.
