Dimapur, March 23 (MExN): Twelve houses at Sirhi Angami B Khel were completely burnt down at midnight on March 20.
According to the Sirhi Angami Village Council Chairman, Mezhükho Kuotsu, several gun shots were also fired, and empty AK-47 shells recovered. This latest incident is in continuation to the March 17 incidents where several houses were burnt down. “We are seriously shocked by such anti-social activities in our land,” the Chairman said, and added that “our doors are always open for amicable solution.”
While appealing that the reason(s) behind this incident should be brought to public knowledge, the Chairman, however, cautioned, “if we are targeted with hidden agendas, we will have no alternative except to reciprocate through any form and means.” The Chairman asserted that Sirhi Angami village is a recognized village with a clear boundary.
