Kohima, May 12 (MExN): The just concluded Multi-Specialty Medical Camp at Kiphire has examined 1236 patients out of 1304 registered. Out of 1236 patients, 14 had been operated for laparoscopic ligation.
There were clear cases of 5 advanced nasopharyngeal cancer and the concern patients have been directed to report to Naga Hospital Kohima for further investigation and treatment an early date.
The multi specialty camp comprise of Dr R Zinyu, Dr Toshimeren Sangtam, Dr Thorsie Katiry, Dr Abei, Dr Pusukiu, Keneinguzo, Limasengla, Temsula, Prisca, Akho, Thepfusovi and Rev Dr L Tsanso. The next multi-specialty medical camp is proposed to be held from May 25 to the 26th at Longleng to be followed by another camp in Peren district.
It may be recalled that the camp was inaugurated by C Kipili Sangtam, Parliamentary Secretary and patron of Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland state branch. He donated Rs. 10,000 for purchase of the medicines.
Meanwhile, the Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch thanked MLA T Torechu and his team in receiving the team at Kiphire, Pungro junction with refreshment. The team also thanked Kipili for hosting a dinner, R Joshua, Chairman Kiphire Town Council for permitting the team to carry out poster and publicity materials for Polio Immunization and HIV/AIDS awareness.
The team had been encouraged by Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister and vice president of IRCSN and his entourage group for donating Rs. 20,000 it informed while thanking all the local doctors AK Mech, SDMO Kiphire, Dr Kuoshutho, MO I/c Kiphire Hospital, Dr Kelhouvito, Dr Horendra Kumar and all the medical staff of Kiphire Civil Hospital for their tireless assistance.
It also acknowledged Deputy Commissioner N Hansing and his team of officials for the wide publicity, Kevin K Zehol for making various arrangements for the team. It also thanked all the citizen of Kiphire for their immense cooperation. While returning to Kohima on April 29, the team also donated some medicines and Rs. 1000 to Jiji Club of Meluri towards the medical camp, informed Dr R Zinyu, Convener, Multi-Specialty Medical Camp.
