173 Battalion CRPF observed ‘Valour’s Day

Dimapur, April 10 (MExN): To remember the valour of its fraternity, the 173 Bn, CRPF on April 9 observed Valour’s Day in its unit Head Quarter at Dimapur.  

According to a CRPF press note, the day is observed to honor valour and determination shown by the battalion in defending “SARDAR POST” when the 2nd Bn CRPF with strength of 2 Coys tactfully repulsed the attack a “full-fledged Pakistani Brigade” attack on the Post on April 9, 1965.

  “The CRPF successfully defended the post till the arrival of reinforcements,” it added.  

During the ceremony at Dimapur, 320 Police Antrik Suraksha Padak were awarded to 173 Bn personnel and it was handed over to the unit personnel by Joseph Keishing, Commandant 173 Battalion.  

While taking pledge on this occasion, he again re-affirmed that CRPF is committed towards maintenance of Internal Security throughout the country, the press note further said.
