Dimapur, January 6 (MExN): A series of civic action programmes were organised by 173 Bn CRPF at Chümoukedima and Phaipijang village on January 5. Under the scheme, the unit had undertaken renovation of Conference Hall at Government Primary School, Construction of Girl’s toilet at Government High School, Chümoukedima Village and Construction of Toilet and Urinal Block (Boys and Girls) at Government Middle School, Phaipijang village.

The 173 Bn CRPF in a press release stated that Syamchand De, DIG (Ops) CRPF Kohima while addressing the gathering elaborated the various activities being carried out by CRPF under civic action to meet the immediate necessary requirements of the local populace. He also motivated the students present there to work hard towards achieving their goals. He also assured the CRPF’s assistance even in the days to come.

Vishnu Gautam, Commandant 173 Bn CRPF also stated that civic action programme is an initiative of Government of India to act as a bridge between the security forces and the local people and outlines the various civic action related programmes that the unit had already ubdertaken in both Dimapur and Mokokchung districts of Nagaland.

The local leaders, village elders, school authorities expressed gratitude to CRPF for providing their basic requirements.

The programme was conducted in the presence of village council authorities, local prominent people, media fraternity, villagers and school children, it stated.
