Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): As part of weeklong celebration of 173 Bn CRPF unit’s Raising Day, a blood donation camp was organized by 173 Bn CRPF in collaboration with District Hospital, Dimapur at the unit’s HQ Airfield, Diphupar here on August 11.
“Officers and Jawans of 173 Bn CRPF always encourage to devote themselves towards the principle of community service here at 173 Bn CRPF and organizing blood donation camp is another step in this direction,” stated a press release from Commandant, 173 Bn CRPF.
About 70 volunteers consisting of officers/ subordinates officer/ jawans of 173 Bn CRPF registered for blood donation, out of which 52 candidates were able to donate blood after a series of medical checkups, it added.
Joseph Keishing, the Commandant in his speech at the programme told the gathering that donating blood is a life saving mechanism and everyone should voluntarily donate their blood once in year for the benefit of the nation.
Dr. Api Bagra, SMO of 173 Bn also explained to the gathering about regenerating mechanisms of blood inside human body, which basically helps own body, the release added.
