Tsiekedi, Asupfii, Chedema, Barak enter third round

Tsiekedi FC, Asupfii Christian Institute, Chedema FC and Barak FC today registered wins in their respective matches to enter the third round of the ongoing 17th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy being held here at the Kohima Local Ground.
In the first match, Tsiekedi FC came from behind to beat ARKCA FC Chumukedima 2-1.
ARKCA was leading till half time, the goal scored by Azo in the 30th minute. Tsiekedi came back strongly in the second half with Kevilietuo Rutsa finding the net right after the restart. Menuolelhou Sote grabbed the winner in the 64th minute.
Menuolhoulie Sote of Tsiekedi FC and Imlitemsu of ARKCA were both cautioned with yellow cards for unsporting behaviour.
In the second match, Asupfii Christian Institute moved on to the next round by defeating Veracious FC, Zapami by a solitary goal – Kaikho netting the winner in the 69th minute.
Merhilo Khutso, the Custodian of Veracious FC, was cautioned with a yellow card.
In the third match, Chedema FC blanked Zodiac FC Tekhuba 5-0.
Neingutoulie Thevo of Chedema opened the account in the 23rd minute and scored again in the 52nd minute. Rokuosazo Chakriino, Neiphrezolie Thevo and Keneisesi Keyho also found the net in 38th, 39th and 60th minute respectively.
Mhasizhakho Thanyii of Zodiac FC and Rokuoneizo Thevo were cautioned with Yellow cards for unsporting behaviour in the 16th and 66th minute.
In the final match of the day, defending champions Barak FC eased past Western Angami Students' Union (WASU).
Mayongshing of Barak FC opened the account in the 4th minute before Salu doubled in the 11th minute. It was however Rhitso’s show as he grabbed a hat-trick – scoring in the 24th, 41st and 49th minute.
Nouneneilie Medoze (7) scored the lone goal for WASU as the match ended 5-1 in favour of Barak FC. Barak’s Keneisedelie was cautioned with a yellow card in the 32nd minute.
