Our Correspondent Kohima | October 11 Tyrants FC Khuzama, Kuki United FC, and Forerunners FC 4th NAP, today moved to the pre-quarter finals after registering wins in their respective matches at the ongoing 17th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy being played here at the Kohima Local Ground under the aegis of Angami Students’ Union. In the first match, braces from Vilhouvoto and Kapzei helped Tyrants FC defeat Nagaland University Kohima Campus (NUKC) 4-1. Tyrants FC’s Vilhouvoto opened the scoring in the 13th minute before NUKC fought back to equalise through Zachamo in the 21st minute. In the second half, Kapzei scored two more goals before Vilhouvoto rounded up the 4-1 rout in the 63rd minute. Vimeyiezo and Ketozo of Tyrants FC were cautioned with yellow cards. Tyrants FC will next take on Senapati FC in the pre-quarters on October 15. Kuki United FC eased into the pre-quarters after they blanked Tsiekedi Sporting Club 3-0 in the second match of the day. Kuki United FC took an early lead through Mangminlen Kipgen in the 10th minute. Seilenmang and Gigin Haokip then scored a goal apiece in the 29th and 37th minute respectively. Letuo Rutsa and Beizo Rame of Tsiekedi Sporting Club and Khaikogin Kipgen of Kuki United FC were cautioned with yellow cards for unsporting behaviour. Kuki United FC will next play against Nagaland Police (Red) in the pre-quarters on October 14. Forerunners FC 4th NAP drubbed high spirited Country Boys FC Peren 6-2 in a high scoring match. Medoneituo opened the account for Forerunners FC in the 16th minute before Nyethong doubled the lead four minutes later. Country Boys came back strong as Mathing pulled one back in the 24th minute. However in the second half, Mathew of Forerunners FC restored the two goal lead scoring in the 36th minute before Vimelie Chase added another goal for Forerunners FC in the 48th minute. Country Boys fought hard and pulled another goal back with Mansak scoring in the 53rd minute to make it 4-2. Forerunners’ Matthew wasn’t done though. He went on to get a hat-trick – the 10th of the tournament – scoring in the 55th and 70th minute to complete the 6-2 rout. Forerunners FC will now clash with Billy Graham FC in the pre-quarters on October 13. Earlier, on Monday, Naga Hospital Colony defeated Phileo FC 2-0 with Meiku and Mengubio scoring in the 12th and 55th minutes respectively. Tragopan Club Viswema also eased into the pre-quarters after defeating Gariphema Youth Organization 4-1. Kethozhapu and Tali Akum scored braces for Tragopan FC while Thsephitso grabbed the consolation for Gariphema YO. Tragopan Club Viswema will next meet Tiemakhe Kidima in the pre-quarters on October 14. A. Lalrintluanga and Poulin helped debutant P. Vizheto FC Niuland defeat Addax FC 2-0 and book its pre-quarters berth. Vizheto FC will next take on Chedema FC on October 15.
