17th Tenyimi Day on February 22

Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): Tenyimi Peoples' Organization, Nagaland, Manipur & Assam states president, Z. M. Sekhose on the occasion of the 17th Tenyimi Day celebrated on February 22 called upon each and every Tenyimi to be positive in their outlook and aim to excel and not to forget our inherent values and rich heritage that have been passed down to us by our great forefathers.
 “On this occasion, I also call upon each and every Tenyimi wherever they are, to observe the Tenyimi Day in a befitting manner and also to renew our pledge to commit ourselves to one another as brothers and sisters and march ahead together,” he stated.  
In his message prior to the day, TPO president said that every nation and every people in the world retain a particular day and observe it as their day in the best befitting manner with an aim to foster better understanding and unity among the people. The Tenyimi as a people of blood brothers and as an entity had chosen February 22nd and observes the day as Tenyimi Day every year.
The message also mentioned that the big Tenyimi family consists of Angami, Chakhesang, Inpui, Maram, Memei, Pochury, Poumai, Rengma, Thangal and Zeliangrong. The ten fraternal brothers constitute the Tenyimi Peoples' Organization which unlike any other organizations was deeply rooted as the Tenymi carries the same blood have common ancestry, tradition and culture.
“This is the reason that the Tenyimi are today standing together as a big family and a fraternal entity. Tenyimi Day is a day of re-union of our blood brothers and a day to reflect our past performances and also a day for us to look across new horizon and march forward and catch up with the rest of the world,” the TPO president stated.
