19th A/C NPF Phek organizes tour

Dimapur, April 14 (MExN): The 19th A/C NPF has organized a week-long tour to Delhi from April 6 to 12. During the weeklong stay in Delhi, the team comprising of 44 members visited several places of interest including the Indira Gandhi Memorial, Nehru Planetarium, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Lotus Temple, Red Fort, Zoo, Nehru Park and Gandhi Samadhi. Besides the historical places of interest, the team also visited the metro station and shopping malls.
Following the week-long successful tour of the capital city, the team led by 19th A/C NPF president Api Vadeo has expressed gratitude to the minister Health & Family Welfare, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu for supporting the entire trip. The team has also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for encouraging them to learn new things and take back the message to the people back home. The CM also hosted dinner for the entire team at the Nagaland House, New Delhi.
Meanwhile, the team members visiting the capital city for the first time recounting their experiences termed the trip as eye-opener. ‘We have learned lots,’ team leader Api Vadeo said adding, ‘we are now committed to bring about changes on sanitation back home’. Besides the sanitation, the team has also resolved to take up tree plantation along the roadsides to increase green cover in the like of capital city stating, ‘the city is massive but they have still managed to have green cover’.
Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Kuzholuzo highlighting the objective behind the trip said, it was aimed at exposing grass root level leaders to modern city life and educating them on the progress and development. He also expressed confidence that such trip would bring about positive changes to effect healthy growth in villages back home. Gratitude was given to Deputy Resident Commissioner, Wezope Kenye and PRO, Nagaland House, Delhi Koulie Mere for assisting the participating tour members and making the stay comfortable.
